Lower San Joaquin River Feasibility Study, Phase 2

A Chief’s Report in support of the Lower San Joaquin River Feasibility Study was signed on July 31, 2018. Congress authorized the project in the America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA), which was signed into law on October 23, 2018.  This authorization and the subsequent appropriations allowed for the advancement of the design and construction phases of the Lower San Joaquin River Project. This includes work in North and Central Stockton.

Now, SJAFCA is partnering with USACE and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board to deliver Phase 2 of the Lower San Joaquin River Project, which encompasses areas in Mossdale Tract, south of the authorized, Phase 1 Project.

SJAFCA is working with USACE to secure Federal feasibility study appropriations to complete the Phase 2 study.  In the Federal FY 2022 budget, $200,000 was appropriated to continue the Phase 2 study.  SJAFCA will update progress as work advances.
