Executive Director
The San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency is seeking an Executive Director. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic priorities and mega infrastructure projects to protect the San Joaquin area from flood risks, coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role demands a leader of action with a strong background in civil engineering, environmental science, or public administration, coupled with extensive experience in flood control or water resource management. The Executive Director will manage a dedicated team, develop and administer budgets, and engage with the community to promote awareness and preparedness. They will be highly engaged with the Board, member agencies, constituents, and state and federal agencies, possessing exceptional communication and organizational skills, a proven track record in project management, and the ability to effectively advocate for the agency’s needs and goals.
